Caring in Nursing Classics (Develop a personal theoretical framework for advanced practice

Introduction

The main objective of the paper is to develop a personal theoretical framework for advanced nursing practice by following a nursing theory. In addition, the application of this nursing theory for developing my personal practice will also be further discussed in this paper.

Main context

Introduction of nursing theory

In order to enhance the advanced nursing practice according to my opinion, I should use the Nursing as a caring theory because this theory demonstrates the unique way by which I can advance my nursing career and practices through caring the patients. By applying this theory, the nurse can get regular feedback from patients, other staffs present in the healthcare centre and also from their family members (Boykin & Schoenhofer, 2015). Therefore with the help of this theory, I can easily advance my nursing practice.

Nurses face various challenges in the present day healthcare system, and therefore it is necessary that should advance their nursing practice and overcome the issues. Therefore developing the personal theoretical framework both the concept and ideas regarding various nursing approaches can be made.

Nursing theory

The Nursing as caring theory had discovered by Anne Boykin and Savina Schoenhofer that demonstrate the fact that all person is caring, but nursing is considered to be a social and unique response of caring (Edvardsson, Watt & Pearce, 2017). In order to define the fact, they describe this nursing on the basis of six assumptions. The assumptions define that persons are caring in accordance with their humanness whereas nursing is both profession and discipline that cares for all peoples in the world (Arslan-Özkan, Okumus & Buldukoglu, 2014). Hence the fundamental constructs of this theory define the fact that humans although are caring persons but they do not provide all sorts of caring and thereby nurses are there for taking care of the people suffering from health problems.

In other words, the Theory of Human Caring demonstrates that humans cannot be considered as objects and thereby they cannot be separated from self, nature, other and the larger workforce (Zareh Hoshyari Khah, Moradbeygi, Elhami & Cheraghian, 2015). On the other hand, the Nursing as caring theory demonstrates that humans have the caring nature, but they do not provide all sorts of facilities for being healthy, and therefore nurse's role is to cure the patient. Therefore, it is clear that both these theory are different from one another and they define different aspects of nursing care.

Application of this theory on personal practice

The theory defines that the focus of nursing procedure on both growing and nurturing of care. Therefore, to apply this aspect in order to develop or advance my nursing practice, I can personally take the feedback from my patients about how they feel about my caring strategy as well as they are satisfied with my services or not. This feedback report from the patients will help me to develop my personal practice as an advanced practice nurse. However, by applying this theory, I can enhance my caring level so that every patient will be satisfied by my caring.

Conclusion

Nursing as Caring theory will be best suited for developing my personal theoretical framework for advanced nursing practice. In addition, the theory helps me to distinguish human care and nurse care, and by following this approach, I will develop my personal practice as an advanced practice nurse.
