A team of 4 members are to be incorporated in the project to ensure the fact that each and every aspect of the product strategy is being taken care of.

Sponsors

In the project is being initiated then the primary sponsors would be the company itself which is the luxury cruise line alongside having other sponsors that can be availed for the purpose of advertisements 

Core functional area

The core functional area that the project will address is the area of sales and marketing. the implementation of enterprise information system(EIS) in the business will allow the business to have a new avenue and this will have a great effect on the marketing division as this will allow to analyse the sales and marketing in a detailed way and track the growth of the company in a better way. The core functional area that will be analysed in the given assignment would be the sales and marketing part of the company which is facing trouble at this current point of time.

Current situation

As stated by Zhang & Wang (2016) the luxury cruise line is one of the business that is having an advantage of providing luxury services in the cruise line business however this is one of the reason why there are majority of the customers which tends to avail this services only during the festival seasons. One reason for the same is the fact that the company is not being able to portray itself as a service that can be availed by the common people during casual trips. This is one of the reason why the sales of the company drop down during the normal season while it picks up during the festival Seasons like Christmas and New year.  As stated by Agostinho et al. (2016) the core problem associated with the service is the fact that the sales and marketing team is not been able to analyse and track the growth of the business across the different parts of UK. There is no centralised information system that can be used by the business organisation to understand the importance of the sales and marketing analysis. The sales and marketing team does not have proper information about the goals and objectives of each and every month. The targets of sales and marketing are set based on assumptions and not based on the factors of data analysis which is a major hindrance to the marketing sales team for the company. This is one of the reason why even after being one of the leading companies in the cruise line the luxury cruise line is not having sufficient amount of growth in terms of sales and revenue generation. 

Business objective

The objective of the business is based on the fact that they want to provide premium services to the customers and they want to get the best of the customers would love to avail the services at a premium rate. However the company also focuses on the customers who would like to avail the services at pocket friendly. As stated by Verdouw et al. (2018) for the same reason the company has initiated several schemes and payment options like EMI system that allow the general travellers to have the chance to avail luxury cruise line services. The primary objective of the company is to be one of the leader in the cruise line business of UK however providing the services across the different parts of UK and reaching out for more and more customers across the globe.

Project objective

The objective of the project is to align the business objective with the the implementation of new system that would allow the business to have the flexibility and accountability of the various aspects which is otherwise being unnoticed by the business organisation. One of the major problem that is being faced by the business organisation is the aspect of dropping rates in the sales and marketing division of the company. As being analysed the dropping rates of the sales and marketing is due to the fact that there is lack of information for the sales and marketing team due to the fact that there is no centralised system that can be provided by the company to evaluate the overall generation of sales and the profit that the company is generating on a daily and monthly basis. As stated by Liao et al. (2018) it is important to understand that their needs to be a proper guideline that would left the company track the information of the sales and marketing which is one of the four functional area for the development of the business in the long run. However for the same purpose the implementation of new you system is an essential part.

Proposed approach

Enterprise information system is one of the most effective ways of communicating the information across the different levels of business and allows the business to have both the flexibility and transparency that lets the business organisation take proper decision. As stated by Gonzálvez et al. (2015) the enterprise information system provides a centralised information system that can be tracked from any nodal point and which helps in developing better Strategies for the business. As it is being witnessed that the sales and marketing has faced several problems based on the fact that they don't have enough information that can be portrait for the development of the strategies the enterprise information system implemented in the business can help in integrating the information and leaving the company take decisions based on data, facts and figures. As stated by Wang et al. (2016) one of the most efficient part of enterprise information system is enterprise resource planning which is one of the methodology that can be used across the different digital platforms to avail information and decide the current trend of the business alongside taking care of the fact that the growth of the business is being considered. Another advantage of this cross platform digital mechanism is the fact that it can be used for the business by letting each and every member having an access to the specific areas of the function that the business operates upon. Does the implementation of ERP would allow the company to have a better approach in the sales and marketing as the leaders from other managers and the sales executives will have the information which is being tracked and this will let the company have a proper guideline and allow the company to ensure the fact that they are in the right direction when it comes to the aspects of sales and marketing. With the growth in the sales and marketing of the company there will be an improvement in the branding of the company due to the fact that more and more customers will be able to avail the luxury services and this will be in alignment with the objective of the company which is to be one of the leading companies in the luxury cruise line and also let the service be availed by majority of the people across the UK. 

Project scope

The scope of the project is avail better information and data about the marketing and sales division which would allow the proper analysis of the sales and marketing records. This will lead to the target setting and objective setting of the company in a better way. The company will be able to analyse the sales targets and strategic development of the marketing team. This project will be able to address the current position of the business which is based on the challenges of sales and marketing division which can be enhanced by the implementation of the new enterprise system.
