Introduction

Pakistan is a Federal Parliamentary Republic State in South Asia on the crossroads of central Asia and Western Asia. This region is located in the most precious land of Asia, which is favorable for the trading point of view. In the geographical perspective, it is considered as the wealthiest land which is filled with a large number of resources. Many constructions companies are operating in this state. Its economy is majorly based on the construction companies, and this sector is considered as one of the largest profitable sectors of this state. It is because that there are vast resources for infrastructure and physical activities that occur in the current environment. In Pakistan, the industrial construction sector has contributed all-around 40-60% in boosting the gross fixed capital of the country in Pakistan stock Exchange [1].

Large Infrastructural Companies in Pakistan

Most of the circulation of money of this state is based on the effective working of these large infrastructural companies. In this state, the industrial revolution plays an important part in the stability of the economic position in the market. Most of the infrastructural organizations are using an effective project information system in order to make an effective operating activity. This project management information system is such an information system that helps the organization to execute its project effectively and successfully in the Pakistan market.

In the Pakistani market, this information software and its methodical process helps the company to effectively using and collection of the project information system. There is a chance in front of the industrial sector of Pakistan to boost up their performance level and earn more profit through effective working. In the current era, this sector is developed by signaling the CPEC agreement. This industrial sector of Pakistan has contributed 2.7% GDP in Pakistan.

The major aim of this project is to provide an effective project management information system for the construction company sector of Pakistan. Thispaper is informative regarding the effective implementation of the information management software in the operating activities for the infrastructural construction company in Pakistan. In this paper, the different technology adaptation related barriers and its current readiness are critically analyzed, and the different strategies are derived in order to help the industries to enhance their performance level in their operating activities in Pakistan.

Construction Companies

There are many construction companies in the state of Pakistan like Areva Interior and Building Contractors, Building Blocks Builder PVT Ltd, AKS Creatives, MM Fast Solution Enterprises and Altas Readymix Concrete. These companies are the well-known companies in the Pakistan economy who are operating in different cities of this state. There are different issues faced by these companies in the country of Pakistan regarding their project management system and other related software that directly impact the performance level of these companies in the market. In the currentera, there is a tough competition between most of the companies in this state that directly impact the performance of these companies in this country.

The competition becomes higher due to the advancement of technology in the operating activities of the state. In that case, there is a major need to enhancetechnology within the state [2]. This paper is information for providing an effective direction to adopt the Project Information Management System (PIMS) in the operating activities of the construction company in Pakistan.

Project Information Management System

PIMS is helpful because it helps the companies to manage their broad infrastructure in society [3]. When this management information system is considered, then it comes to realize that this system plays an important part in the proper planning and the decision-making process of theses well-known construction companies in Pakistan. It is because, through this, it becomes easy for the companies to achieve their goals in the Pakistani market.

There are major two types of project management software like online software which uses the cloud-based technology and offers software-as-a-service (SaaS) by the application service provider; and the next one is on-premium who resides in the own server of the company that is managed by the IT department of the company and located in the data center. The major features of PIMS are related to task management, email integration, learning material, team collaboration, mobile and document management [4]. While in addition to this, this software also helps the organization to make effective scheduling, reporting, customization, time management and third-party integration related factors in their operating activities.

There are different types of project management software that helps the manager and its team to complete the client requirement and effectively managed the scope, budget and time-related constraints. But selection regarding choosing the right toll of software is quite challenging in front of the company [5]. In Pakistan and other developing countries, there are many small and medium-sizedbusinesses across the different industries that are using online project management software in their operating activities. This type of information software used the cloud-based technology, and through software-as-a-service (SaaS), they offered to serve the providers.

In the current year, there are ten major types of project information management software like Jira, Buildertrend, Eclipse, Procore, GenieBelt, EasyProjects, Zoho Projects App, Office Timeline, Standup and ProWorkflow. These are that software which effective information storage and related management techniques to the management of the large infrastructural company. This software helps the contractors, builders and other remodelers to handle all of their projects effectively and derive a certain outcome [6].

In order to implement the project management information system, there is a need of skilled labor so that this software can make easily adoptable for the companymanagement. Thereis also a need ofa large amount of capital regarding the implementation of the project information system in the management relation sector [7]. This paper also consists of different risk factors based on the company’s management in order to adopt new information software in the operating activities of a company.

The reason is that for that purpose, there is a need to effective implementation of new and attractive technology in the highly profitable company of Pakistan. This paper is based on the theoretical evidence regarding the effective adoption of efficient electronic information that not only beneficial for the operating activities of a company but also boosts the economiccondition of the state. The reason is that if the performance of the company is up to the mark then it becomes easy for its management to achieve their goal of higher profit and in result, the economy of the country become also enhanced.

Purpose of the Project

The major aim of this research is to derive such information system that helps the construction company of a Pakistani state to work in their operating activities effectively. There are many operation and supervision related issues faced by the construction companies in Pakistan. After adopting this new Project Management Information System, it becomes easy for industries to make an effective decision regarding the accomplishment of their goals and the productivity of the companies is also become enhanced [8]

The major aim of this study is to overcome the bad information related issues faced by most of the construction companies in Pakistan. The reason is that without this information software, it becomes difficult for the companies to effectively manage all of its resources and other large numbers of projects. Its second aim is to enhance the productivity of the company regarding their manufacturing and other project related factor. It is because if the management efficiently performs their work well on time through the effective use of technology than the efficiency of the company will become enhanced.

The third aim of this research is to reduce the barrier in the adaptation of the project management information system in the operating activities of an organization. it is because there are many technologies in the market, but due to certain reasons like lack of capital, lack of skilled technical employees and other such ones creates a major barrier in the effective adoption of this latest and effective information software in the working environment. This threatening factor reduces the confidence level of the employees and management to derive effective outcomes [9].

The fourth objective of this research objective is to create awareness regarding the PIMS importance in the industrial sector of Pakistan. This objective is considered as one of the major objectives in this phase because it helps the construction companies to boost up their performance level. This research plays an important part regarding creating the positive word of mouth and awareness regarding the project management related information software. The sixth aim of this research is to drive such strategies in order to reduce the barrier of PIMS adoption because, in Pakistan, most of the companies want to adopt the PIMS related software in order to boost their performance level.

But unfortunately, they do not know how to adopt this system, which will increase their performance level effectively. This research will help them to critically analyze the current market condition, reduce the related barriers and derive a certain outcome. There are different strategies regardingthe adoption of the latest information software in the working environment [9]. The seventh objective of this research is to reduce the risk of adopting information technology by driving different ways to achieve the goal of effective information software that regulates and control all the project related data.

It is also very helpful regarding how to effectively managea large amount of diverse data at the same time. The eight objectives of this research are to derive such project information management system that can handle complex infrastructure and give the accurate outcome of this research. Like there are many software in the market which provides the project related exact information to the company. In this software, different files regarding the operating activities of a project in the form of Microsoft Document, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and many other forms are present [10].

Through this paper, it becomes easy for the company’s management to drive a positive outcome in the working operation of a large infrastructure company in Pakistan. It is because there are all the parameters regarding the adoption of effective information software is used by the company’s operation are studied. All the objectives of this research project are directly linked with the development of the effective PIMS in the large infrastructure company who are using for this technology adoption and derive different ways and strategies in order to reduce the barrier of this software adoption.

Literature Review

There are many types of research regarding the effective implementation of PIMS in the management related activities of a small, medium or large organization. Some of the important researches are given below;

Application of PIMS

In Asian countries, this is considered as one of the effective approach in the maintaining the project related information in a secure browser and update the operating activities of a company, according to the client’s demand. In the journal of the global information management system, the research was conducted by Manisha Seth, Ravi Kiran and D.P. Goyal in 2017, regarding the project management related information system in the Indian automobile industry.

According to them, a Supply Chain Management Information System (SCMIS) in the project management plus a major rule in the reduction of project related to cost and increase the responsiveness in the supply chain. This type of software is quite complicated and risky in case of any company because some barriers regarding the selection of software may generate a loss for a company. The researchersmajorly highlight different strategies in order to effect this sub-part software of PIMS in their automobile industry. They also explore the failure factor of the ERPsystem regarding resource management in a company [11].

In 2017, Bigelow with other majorly worked on the implementation of an effective information system in the largest infrastructural based companies in developing and developed countries. The researcher studied how construction companies can easily manage their project related information in a more effective way regarding what kind of barriers they mostly faced. They critically analyze the current situation of construction companies and derive certain strategies in the development of effective software in their operating activities. The researchers derive a certain outcome regarding the effective adoption of the latest PIMS software in order toaccomplish the projects. According to the researcher, there are some cost related barrier factors faced by the company’s management in software adoption. This research was majorly focused on the effective management point of view.

According to the researchers, there are many environmental, economic, political and social factors that directly impact the adoption of the effective management information related system in the working activities of a country. This research was considered as the first one who deals with the critical success factor in the technology adoption in the construction companies. This research explores the new ways to adopt effective information software in construction companies [12].

PIMS Implementation in Construction based projects

In the journal of building engineering, the research is conducted on the barrier regarding the adoption of building information modelling in the construction projects of a company. This research is based on the Delphi survey of the international experts where the initiative of this research is to gain momentum in the sustainable smart cities. According to the researchers, the use of this BIM in a constructionproject related information is the key factor for efficient management. This research was quite informative because the perception of fourteen international experts regarding the information software is critically analyzed and then derive a conclusion[13].

According to researchers, the construction companies should apply this model in the operating activities so that their efficiency regarding the infrastructural project can be minimized. They said that there are three key barriers in order to change the traditional working practices like extendthe period of innovative technology adoption, lack of proper understanding regarding the workflow of BIM and sustainability; and the company’s resistance to adoptingnew technology. In addition, they also derive different strategies and guidelines in order to mitigate the barriers [13].

There is also another research regarding the implementation of building information modelling in the construction industry. According to the researchers, this adoption greatly improved the coordination among the stakeholders, increased profits and enhanced productivity. This research was based on the identification of the negative factors like firstly 22 factors are identified and classified into five major groups like legal, personnel, management, cost and technology. The researchers also propose different suggestions to eliminate that limiting factors. And in the end, they drive different ways in order to improve the BIM theory and how to apply in construction companies. This research was information because it provides some support for the practitioners who plan or using the BIM in their operating activities [14].

In 2017, Kyungmo and other work collectively to understand the construction management risk system for the firms related in the construction based projects. After the financial crisis in 2008, management firms. This happened due to the reduction in the orders in the market of Korea. This situation created competition among construction companies. Results have shown that risk was not managed properly due to the lack of risk management systems in the market [15].

Results have shown that it was very important for the development of the standard operating system and the implementation of the risk management systems to manage and overcome the risk efficiently to recover from the loss in the construction sector. This study aims to develop the construction management system to control the risk related to the construction based projects and the implementation of PIMS in these projects. To control the risk, the operation managers of the construction firm conducted a survey to identify the factors about risk. Factors were analyzed and identified through the risk assessment analysis. They have found that the risk management system with seven modules was able to respond to the risk effectively [15].

Jack Burston, in 2015, worked to assess the MALL project implementation. Despite the fact that hundreds of applications assist by the technology and mobile phones over the past few years, the statistical measures of learning outcomes are far and few between. This is due to the fact that almost all studies related to MALL regarding the learning outcomes because they are not involved in MALL implementation projects. Statistically, reliable learning outcomes resulted from the short duration of the projects and the small group of the student involved in the learning outcomes about the implementation of the MALL in the projects [16].

Results have shown that almost 291 studies have examined in this review only 35 minimal conditions for sample size and duration about the projects. These were suffered from the serious design issue and the shortcomings of the designs. There were nineteen MALL studies that can effectively serve as the basis in the determination of the learning outcomes of mobile-based language applications. Results have shown that there were serious issues about the design shortcomings and the learning outcomes from these studies are different from each other [16].

there was the high demand for the risk management because there was the need to overcome and decrease the losses in the construction and the in the infrastructure and in the construction

Infrastructural Development Program

Asadullah Khan and others (2019) majorly work on the critical analysis of the infrastructural development program in the country. During their research, they majorly highlight the public sector relevant infrastructural project in their portfolio and program management related literature. In the current era, there are many multi projects regarding the selection, designing and implementation of the government-sponsored programs that made by the policymaker of the country[17].

In 2015, there was research those variables that directly impact the project management factors, and also different correlations factors in the construction industry of the Iranian project-oriented organizations are studied. The researchers of this article classify the characteristics of the project management department and its offices in order to analyses their characteristics based analysis. According to them, founding is one of the most organizational variables for the site of project management. They majorly focus on the project management office in their research because according to them, this is a major source of properly managed the project related activities [18].

Like in the construction or large infrastructure based companies who have a large number of projects at the same time, then, in that case, there is a need of such operating system where all the project related files are completely synchronized, evaluated and stored. For that purpose, the latest information technology and software is the only approach to boost the working capacity of the company. According to them, the organization have the structural and contextual dimensions that help to structure and function the project of the company. His research is informative regarding the analysis of the relationship of all the department of the construction company with the project management office so that the decision-making process and supervision process can become improved [18].

In 2016, Tsurkan and others made their contribution to assess the influence of the budgeting on the infrastructural development in Russia. Participatory budgeting practices in the Russian Federation have caused the problems related to the investigation. Due to the lack of development in the science and in the theoretical and the lack of methodological shape of the participatory budgeting, there were very few territories that used this tool effectively. The main issue in the allocation of budget funds is the increase in the involvement of the local communities in the process of rational allocation of the budgeting funds [19].

This study aims to investigate the influence of the budgeting funds in the development of infrastructure territories in the Russian Federation. This paper has analyzed the common activities in the specifically selected regions and the different forms of the budgeting funds in the infrastructure development in some regions of Russia. Authors thought that it is the process of allocating the budgets to identify the initial local problems in the development of infrastructure, which led to the improvement of infrastructure development. These results are consisted of the actual worth and conceptual basis for the participatory budgeting. Indicators have been highlighted to analyze their impact on the infrastructural development in the specific region. The importance of this research is too focused on projects with the help of budgeting funds [19].

This study was conducted to analyze and understand the relationship between infrastructure and the development process in Brazil. This article has considered the relationship of growth and infrastructure in the context of Brazil and to identify the nature and the cause of the underinvestment infrastructural program in the country. This paper has also examined the relationship among investment about infrastructure and the economic growth on a regional and national basis. This paper has focused on the shortfall in the transportation sector and the policies made by the government to overcome the shortfall [20].

This article has that a central reason for this lies in the design and the implementation of the regulatory mechanism. Studies have shown that the regulatory governance of Brazil has proved deficient. Results have shown that in the infrastructural sub-sector, the regulatory risk has remained elevated, such as urban transportation and the highways. This has led to delay investment in the infrastructural sub-sector. Increase in the infrastructural investment will need fundamental improvement in the quality of regulatory governance and decreases the risk related to the regulatory governance [20].

Technological Importance

In the book of Project management, there is a description of technological importance in the workplace. Like if the management is unable to apply the effective software in its project related activities, then it will become impossible for the corporation to achieve its goal. In this book, most of the management related philosophies are discussed regarding their functions. This books not only enhance the knowledge of students regarding their activities but also explores different ways in order to critically manage the resources by using the effective software and information system on the basis of nature of a company. This book is based on the engineering related perspective of the management of project-related task in business life [21].

In this book of “Project Management,” the authors explore different management related philosophies that are restricted to a few functional areas in order to make the enterprise project management system. Different perspective regarding the effective working of project management is considered in different perspectives. This book is related to providing effective software and technology in order to effectively implement effective policies in the decision-making process within the organization[21].

The project management is such a tool which is used in order to make effective decisions regarding the effective working of the information management system in the environment. The author explores most of the important steps in order to plan critically, schedule and control the management related issues and derive such procedures in order to overcome these factors from society. For that purpose, the Project Information Management System is considered as one of the effective sources in order to critically analyze the project related information and divided the project's activities in order to achieve them and achieve their goals [21].

Industrial Readiness in PIMS adoption

There is another article which is based on the facilitation of related transition in order to make a sustainable construction. Rui-dong Chang with others (2016) explores different sustainable construction related strategies in the construction companies. The researchers also considered different laws, control and regulations made by the Chinese government in this matter. They also support different activities and economic incentives given by China’s government in order to promote sustainable construction[22].

This project concludes that urban policymakers play an important part in the sustainable construction development. China country faced different challenges to balance itsfuture process of urbanization with environmental protection and resource conservation. In this project, the researchersmajorlyhighlightdifferent activities for sustainable infrastructure construction like strengthening the technology innovation, establishing the demonstration project, improving standards and evaluation and the publicity of the project in the market. This research concludes that China is such a developing country who facilitate the sustainable construction project by effective use of technology [22].

In the article of the project management journal, the researchers majorly work on the systematic review on the SM studies in the linkage with the MCP that seems to be decreasing. The researchers of this articles majorly work of the four major topics regarding these two factors that how they impact the project management team. They also discussed the stakeholder's relationship in the MCP. According to Ka Yan Mok and others, most of the uncertain and complex nature of the mega construction project (MCP) that is required in order to make effective stakeholder management (SM) approach in order to accommodate the interest of the conflicting stakeholders. Most of the construction companies majorly focus on this factor regarding adopting such a system that is highly acceptable to the shareholders. The reason is that some of the shareholders who are risk averse and cost conscious, do not want to apply technology in their operating activities that increase the expense rate of the companies in the operating and maintenance related activities [23].

The researchers majorly focus on four major research topics like first on the stakeholder influence and interest, the second one the stakeholder’s analysis method, the third one is stakeholder management process and last one is the stakeholder engagement. They studied these factors in the construction company’s perspective that what are the major factors that play an important part in the decision-making process regarding the adoption of PIMS in the operating activities.in addition, there are different factors that are considered in this analysis, like the impact of the national culture on this discipline. According to the researchers, the traditional stakeholders analyze the techniques that are widely adopted in the MCP and also they discussed the social network approach in order to manage the stakeholder’s interrelationship with the construction companies of state [23].

Industrial barriers in PIMS adoption

In 2016, Farnaz Mosannezadeh and other researchers made a research on different issues faced by the companies in order to implement the technology and software in the operating activities of a company. Most of the sustainable urban energy projects are critically analyzed by the researches in order to critical study smart and sustainable energy (SSE) development. In this project, the EU-FP7 project of SINFONIA is critically analyzed where the different European SSE related cases are critically studied. This research was based on the case base of new SSE project in the company[24].

The major aim of the researchers is to implement a sustainable and smart energy project in the urban areas in order to overcome the quality and efficiency related issues in the state. They also discussed different barriers regarding the adoption of efficient technology and software in the operating activities of an organization like money-related issues, local socioeconomic, political and other environmental related issues in developed countries. Their major aim of this research was to predict the number of barriers of the new sustainable technology adoption and also suggest different ways to overcome these issues [24].

The article of Automation in Construction Journal, the researchers understand theirown requirement the landscape that is essential when the effective decision making on the owner’s BIM requirements. The researchers of this analysis explore different ways in order to make a connection between the design solution, BIM and owner requirement that helps the large infrastructure companies in order to develop the owner BIM requirements. The Building Information Modeling is considered as the potential solution for the facility owners in order to address the challenges of interoperability, poor information fidelity and usability in the project delivery. Its major aim is to give support to the lifecycle of their asset information[25].

They also explore that there are different issues that are faced by the management of the company in order to make a critical decision regarding the information and software selection. They studied two large owner organization in Canada in order to understand the process of formulating and developing the requirements of BIM to support their asset lifecycle. They critically analyzed the relationship between the owner requirements, BIM and organizational constructs. This analysis is informative regarding the handover of all the digital facility models and is based on their specific needs [25].

Kassem and others in 2019 build a building information modelling in order to facilitate the management related application in the emerging countries. The theoretical proposition of this on information modelling is to generateand capture the lifecycle facility that can improve its management. The researches of this analysis are to investigate the BIM value and different challenges that affect its adoption in the FM application. The researchers of this article explore the different important points of the information technology in the decision-making process of project management[26].

According to later studies, it is concluded that there are many challenges faced by the BIM application in the financial management project of an organization. In the end, the researches demonstrated their important points regarding the implementation of the BIV value in the FM stems in order to make some improvement to the FM accessibility, its accuracy improvementand increase the efficiency of work. According to researchers, the major challenge which the company’s management faced in the effectiveimplementation of the BIM for the requirement of FM modelling, the presence of disparate operational system and the interoperability between the FM and BIM technologies and shortage of the BIM skills in the large infrastructural related industries [26].

Strategic Planning of PIMS Adoption

The governance of the infrastructure program usually constitutes a critical element in strategic planning in the developing and developed country. This paper majorly highlights the infrastructure related development program in the Gilgit Baltistan (northern Pakistan) and also explores different shortcomings in the area of stakeholder management, decision making and role ambiguity. The researcher of this research derives a creative common attribution license-based software in the operating activities in the workplace [17].

Saeed Banihashemi (2017) explores the different critical success factor (CSF) regarding the integration of sustainability into the construction related projects in developing countries. Research explores the conceptual model regarding the adoption of project management related software through the innovation diffusion theory. During this research, the researchers used valid PLS-SEM with the data collection method in the developing and developed nations [12].

The safety factor is one of the major planning components that secure the future of the company; the reason is that if any construction company makes some investment and other implementation of new technology in the workplace, then it should consider the risk factor in the working of machinery. Most of the researchers are made regarding the implementation of the PIMS in the operating activities of a company, but few of them focus on the safety factor in it. The researcher of this company. The researchers conducted interviews with the professional having knowledge regarding this factor. In the end, the researcher derives four major conceptual approaches in the management of the project uncertainty [27].

According to this research, there are different challenging facing projects of the construction companies that are even complex and highly socio-technical environment regarding technology adoption. In the end, the researchers concluded that there are seven schools of thought on the project management and adaptation of technology is one of them, which should be followed by the researchers. The reasons that if they followed it, then the uncertainty factor regarding future events can be minimized [27].

The large infrastructural companies are majorly focused on developing such a system where the huge data can easily assemble and restore in an effective and efficient way. This new software adoption also the management to handle its large construction and infrastructural related projects in the market; the reason is that it enhances the organizational capabilities of a country. This new management related software adoption plays an important part to overcome the performance related issues of the country.  A large amount of data is stored through this system and also the management can overcome the cost related issues by effectively implementing the costcutting strategies [28].

This paper has discussed strategic planning in hospitals in the United States. Studies have shown that hospitals in the U.S are still in the process of development, and they are adopting the modern strategic market planning tools and methods. In the market, the majority of the respondent shows their positive response regarding the effective implementation of PIMS in the operating activities of a company. The overall mean value of these quantitative questionnaires is within the range of 3.00 to 4.26 which shows that majority of the result is completely linked with the effective implementation of the PIMS in the operating activities of a company. The minimum values are also varied question by question like in first five questions; its values are within the range of 1 to 5 which means that this both extremism based reaction is faced from the participants of the research.

While in question from 6 to 10, the same outcomes are recovered from the professionals, which shows that all of this professional hasthe same thinking level regarding the adoption of PIMS in the operating software. In this way, the research is carried out on the question of wise data. In case of its standard deviation based data, its value is lower than the expected amount in most of the questions which shows that the outcomes are mostly shows the positive results in the implementation of PIMS in the project planning related system.

Its most of the standards deviation values are shown within the range of 0.052 to 1.377, which means that the estimated values are little deviated from the mean values. While its value is 0.00 in question 35, which is related to make an effective monitoring system in the PIMS implementation system. It means that the error related factors of these values are lower that the estimated values. While the lower standards deviation values are 1.437 in, the better economic condition of Pakistan related question which means that there is great deviation factor in such factor because the economic condition of Pakistan is not performing well in the market and majority of the results do not match with the expected outcomes.

While in case of lower standards deviation error, its value is 0.785 in the second question regarding the positive impact of PIMS on the performance level of the organization. It means that this is a positive variable of creating a positive relationship between the PIMS and construction companies’ performance. In the above descriptive table, it becomes clear that the performance of the large infrastructural companies in Pakistan is majorly based on its effective implementation of PIMS in the project planning of the construction companies.

The question wise frequency analysis of this project is given below;

In this question, the majority of the people shows their positive response regarding the effective implementation of PIMS in the operating activities of construction companies. It is because they think that the environment of Pakistan economy is favourable for effective technology adoption. After then, the strongly agreed and neutral response of respondent is occurred, and then the minimum number of respondent shows the negative response in this factor. This frequency graph shows that the hypothesis of the research is effective approved by the number of respondents. But the standards deviation factor of this project is 1.215 due to the presence of disagree person.

In the above table, the majority of the people shows their positive response regarding the effective implementation of PIMS. Its mean value is 3.6, and its standard error is 1.34, which shows that the technology positively impacts on the performance level of the organization. There is an upward direction of the slop of the chart.

In the case of construction companies bearing issues, the range of strongly agreed people are relatively much higher as compared to the strongly disagreed and the slop is moving in the upward direction. This range of frequency shows that the company may bear some economic issue after adopting this software. Their major problems are the cost related issues and the lack of technically skilled labour in the market. That the reason shows the results of analysis outcomes have a positive response and its standard deviation values are 1.416 means lower than other. This is the authentic and accurate outcome of the research.

In the case of implementing the effective PIMS in the operating activities, the effective cost related strategies and other long term decision making the process can overcome the cost related issues of the company. In this question, the large number of people are agreed on it,but the number of people who disagree on this statement is also higher than the agreed people which means that no more accurate outcome is generated in this research outcome. Thatthe reason the frequency level of this question is shows the median form of slope in the operating activities and its standard deviation value is 1.504 with 3.06 mean value.

In the case of negative statement regarding the adoption of technology, the disagree related responses are much higher than the estimated positive responses so that the frequency of the layers shows the accurate outcomes. But the negative response factor of the respondent is higher than the positive response. The standards deviation value is 2.54 and meansthe value is 1.216.

In case of this economic related factors, the frequency value of the outcomes shows the moderate outcomes. It means that the mean value is 3.04, and the standards deviation is 1.087. In this question, the agree and disagree values of the results both have the same value, which neutralized the outcomes. This shows that most of the professionals think that Pakistan’s economy is unfavorable for such large projects.

The frequency related factors of this question show that the majority of the people shows a positive response regarding this factor that this new data mining process is favourable for the construction companies. That’s why its standard error is lower than the other questions and means the value is higher.

The productivity regarding construction companies enhanced through implementing the PIMS system and its frequency level shows that majority of the people are believed on this factor and only 10% to 20% people are showing their positive agree based response; it means that the productivity regarding the operating activities become enhanced. Its standard deviation level is 1.299 and meansthe value is 3.84.

In case of time related factors, most of the people show a positive response and its error factor shows the medium values. But the average range of such responsesshows negative responses. Its mean value is 3.24 and standards deviation value is 1.697.

In this case, there is a variation of result in the frequency table, the range of neutral and the agreed based response is higher than the other outcomes which shows the positive situation regarding the new technology adoption in Pakistan market.

Conclusion

After critically analyzed the current situation of the large infrastructural company in the Pakistan market, it is concluded that it is beneficial for the company to adopt Project Information Management System in the operating activities of a company. According to the quantitative analysis, it is proved that most of the engineers, management staff and other related professionals have a firm belief that this software should be implemented by the construction company in their operating activities. This factor shows that most of the construction companies in Pakistan are ready to implement this PIMS in their operating activities.

The reason is that through this, it becomes easy for the company’s management to handle a large number of project-related files. The time-related barriers can be easily removed through this software and performance efficiency will become enhanced in these factors. There are some barriers faced by the company’s management regarding this implementation like cost-related issues, lack of technically skilled employees, political and governmental influence on the company’s management etc.

These issues are directly and indirectly liked with the financial and economic condition of the company and state. The company’s management can overcome it, by utilizing some cost-cutting strategies in the software adoption. The second strategy is to give some training program to the employees so that their performance related issues can be resolved. The other strategic approach of the selected construction companies is that the performance level of an organization must be some attractive and informative for the customer so that the positive word of mouth is created at the end of this software adoption.

According to the results, the management of Block Builder Pvt Ltd, Elegant Interior & Construction and AKS Creatives are highly motivated to implement this new and latest PIMS in their operating activities of an organization. While on the other hand, there is only one Construction Company named as MM Fast Solution Enterprise is a little bit restricted in the adoption of this software in their operating activities due to some cost related issues. It shows that cost and unskilled employees are the major barriers for non-adoptability of new cloud-based software in their operating activities.

There is a need for each construction company in Pakistan to implement such PIMS related software in their operating and information management system, by resembling its characteristics with the current situation of the company. Like the demand for efficient software is vary from company to company on the basis of its operating activities, its working nature, number of projects, current software, employee’sspecialty and other cost related factors.

According to this research, it is quite easy for the large infrastructure based company to make such technological risk in their operating activities. This paper is informative regarding creating awareness regarding the importance of PIMS for the construction companies in Pakistan. While there is also a brief discussion regarding reducing the technology adoption related barriers by driving an effective strategies to the company’s management.

Limitation of this research

There is some weakness of this research regarding the data collection is faced during this research. Like there is a quantitative approach used in the adapt collection. There is no qualitative approach used during this research analysis. This weakness badly impacts the reliability of this research because if the interviews from the company’s managementare conducted, then more authentic research will be generated at the end of this research. The lack of open-ended questions creates a major barrier in order tounderstand the behavioural approach of the company’s management regarding the implantation of PIMS in their operating activities.

The second barrier is the number of companies like if more companies are selected, then more perspective regarding the PIMS adoption will be made that boost the performance level of the company in the Pakistan market. The implementation of the PIMS impact on the financial performance of the constructioncompanies is not critically considered. If it is considered, then more authentic and reliable research will be made. There are some other limitations regarding the collection of the relevant data from the secondary resources like there is no information regarding the annual reports and website related information.

Recommendations

There are some recommendations regarding thisresearch analysis that is given below;

There is aneed of qualitative research so that management, engineers and other professional perceptions regarding the operating activities of the construction company are critically analyzed and evaluated.

There is a need to consider the opinion of the general perspective regarding this PIMS adoption in the operating activities of any construction companies.
