SWOT Analysis

In any organization that intends to overcome its challenges and reach its organizational objectives in the allocated time, leadership is a very essential aspect (Day, 2017). The organizational objectives involved in this case are obtaining a desired amount of profit and making sure that the consumer demands are fulfilled. In my case of playing a leadership role at Nestle, there are some considerations that I need to make for effectively executing my duties. Firstly, the following SWOT Analysis will give an idea about my Strengths and Weaknesses as seen by myself and others.

Strengths-

People including my family and friends who are always around me have always regarded me as a good motivator who always strives to get the best out of people by telling them about their abilities to perform well.

I usually regard myself as a leader who strives to be an example for my team or my followers. If there is a chance to execute the job on my own, I do so and set an example for my team to follow.

Weaknesses-

Man management is a weakness that I seem to have in me. I constantly face issues regarding managing the different stakeholders related to a particular activity.

I also regard myself as a leader who is not quite up to the mark when it comes to understanding the situations of my followers. For example, when I was in charge of a group project, I constantly pushed a teammate for executing his duties after knowing that he was seriously ill. This resulted in the teammate not wanting to be a part of the team.

Opportunities-

As said by my friends, teachers and family, I am a person who is constantly willing to learn from others and willing to improve myself. This trait of mine can bee beneficial for a leadership role.

I am also a very aware of giving my best efforts in every operation that i am involved in. I try to execute any duty that is given to me within the allocated amount of time and I also try to maintain the quality of work and as a leader I am confident that my works will affect the morale and energy off my followers.

Threats-

In the difficult situations that come across any activity that I am involved in, I tend to get confused with a lot of ideas coming from different sources and decision making becomes a challenge for me. This I consider as the only threat regarding my position in a leadership role.

PEST Analysis

An ideal leader who is involved in any organization, executing any task must be aware of his or her capabilities of handling the internal factors as well as the external factors surrounding an organizational environment. My abilities to deal with the internal factors have been described by the SWOT Analysis and for the external factors, the following PEST Analysis will give a good understanding.

Political-

As leader I am very aware that political stableness in a business environment is an essential aspect that can push the business in being on the right track towards development. Political instability will mean instability in rules and norms as well and this can mean that the firm can face challenges.

I try to analyze the political groups or individuals to find out who has the best possible facilities in mind for my organizational environment. Once I am able to decide, I tend to favour that political group.

Economical-

As a leader I always try to do my best for maintaining economical stability. I try to maintain records that are very clear and I intend to maintain a sustainable environment in the organization so that costs are limited.

I am always aware of my organizational objectives and thus I intend to maintain a desired amount of profit for my firm. This is always the first priority in my list a leader of the organization environment.

Social-

The leadership role also demands a person to be aware of the responsibilities relating to the society. This responsibilities include the duties of addressing the cross cultural issues in the workplace, addressing the social responsibilities of creating work opportunities and reducing pollution etc. I myself try to do my best in executing these activities on behalf of my organization.

Technological-

Technology and its effective use can shape the success of any organization that has the ability to change itself as per the developments in science (Bolman, 2017). I as a leader always intend to change my organization as per the situation or technological changes in the organizational environment. Thus, I think I can make a good leader for Nestle as I have the traits needed to execute my job.

Use of naturally occurring data

Leadership is a trait that always surrounds the employee base of any organization and directs them in the direction of being effective. However, for leadership to be useful, the person in the leadership role must be able to understand and analyze the employee base and their abilities (Antonakis and Day, 2017). The records and documents must also be able to tell the exact story about how the organization is dealing with the daily operations. For maintaining these duties of a leader, documents like conversations verbally and on digital platforms are important. I will be keeping every record of my daily interactions with my followers. The E-Mails containing the daily reports are also a great way to maintain and update the daily records of the employee and the operations. There are always records of accounts that give understanding of the costs of an organization. As a leader in my leadership role I will try to maintain all the books and records so that the I can run all my organizational operations smoothly.
