In a healthcare setting, an extensive range of communication forms are utilised. Some of them include verbal, non-verbal and written communication. Apart from these, technological aids are also employed in different health and social care settings to communicate with a range of people. As per the opinion of Bullingtonet al. (2019), effective verbal communication enables the communicators to present and explain the ideas clearly and to listen to other's messages effectively. In this regard, it can be mentioned that the medical practitioners make use of this approach in most of the time to communicate with their care users and also with the colleagues to devise better treatment strategies. Conversely, non-verbal communication comprises of various aspects with which the messages are conveyed from one person to other (Evripidouet al., 2019). For this, use of sign languages, facial expression, proximity, eye contact, hand movement and body language are required to be maintained such that it does not create a negative impression on the opposite party. On the other hand, written communication is used in healthcare setting when medical practitioners make any planning for treatment facilitation to their care users. However, the medical practitioners need to acquire formal type of writing skills which would be understood to all every individual associated with the healthcare setting. Despite this, different technological solutions are utilised by the healthcare setting to communicate within the healthcare units or with their respective customers. As an instance for reminding the care users about their appointments, a text message or email can be delivered.
