The act of the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a works with the application of the code of fair information practices which can help to govern the collection, maintenance along with the steps of the use, and dissemination related to the information which works around the individuals with respect to the maintained in systems of records that is done by the federal agencies (Park, 2014).

The act defines fair practices which are applied with respect to the personal information as information or an opinion which matches with the truth or not, or it reflects the recorded information which works as per the material form or not, related to an identified individual, or an individual which is defined per the identifiable.

 In the act of the Privacy Act of 1974, as implied and constituted by the 5 U.S.C. 552a allows and permits to protect record details related with the individuals which can work to retrieve with respect to the personal identifiers which includes the name, social security number, and various other details which can help to identify number or symbol.

In this act, there is also an exception to this rule, which relates with the social security number and makes necessary usage restrictions, and this rule is well aligned with the section 7 of the Privacy Act. it does apply to federal, state or even works in the line of the local government agencies. Section 7, part of Pub. L. No. 93-579, that can be described under the 5 U.S.C. § 552a note (Relates to the Social Security Number). In the Privacy Act it tends to works and balance the government's which can help to attain and maintain information which works parallel with the individuals that can relate with the rights of individuals causing steps to protect  against unwarranted invasions and also relate with the act of the privacy stemming in respect to the federal agencies' collection and also aligning in relation to the maintenance, use, and works of the  disclosure of personal information which works in relation to them (Act, 2014).
