Q A report on Space transportation advances in the field of space research and development organizations Home, - Space transportation Space transportation Abstract Several developed countries have now placed importance to risk free space transportation as it is said to be the future of this world. Since 1930s, the space exploration has started. Observing the political, social, cultural and economic impacts, it is understandable that sharing of resources and maximizing R&D efforts are the best ways to achieve the mission. Introduction Space transportation is an important element that influences the advances in the field of space research and development. Organizations like NASA have involved in adding ease to the space transportation with new mechanisms and technologies to make it risk free. The purpose of this report is to understand the history behind space transportation and the impact that this technology can cause to the society on varied aspects. The ethical implication is discussed in the last part of the paper. Thesis statement Risk free space transportation is feasible in the next decade. Historical timeline Travel to space began with a rocket before 1935 and Russians have then attempted to develop an artificial satellite that can be sent to the space. This was tested with the launch of a living creature - a dog. Later in 1960s, a communication satellite was launched where a man travelled. With regular developments, it was possible for the space research team to send an unmanned rocket to the space (Lambert, 2018). The period of 1970s was bright to the space industry as countries like Japan, China also came forward to launch satellites on their own. Though there were tragedies in the mid, the space research organization continued to examine the possibilities to let a life transport without risk and survive in the space. More probes were sent in 1980s. In the year 1988, Musa Manarov and Vladimir Titov were the first to spend a year in space. After 1990s, the researchers paid more attention to observe the status of planets and sent probes to communicate and capture photographs whenever required. During this entire journey, every country played a major role to make it possible for humans to live in an alternate planet (Lambert, 2018). The history makes it clear that the space travel is feasible though emissions need to be controlled and proper technologies will have to be in place. The question is on feasibility of risk free travel. Technology's influence on society Space technology has a number of impacts on the society. Technologies like support infrastructure, satellites, spacecraft and space stations have made it possible to travel to the space at an ease. One example of a predominant technology used in this field is laser communication where laser beams are passed between station and spacecraft to convey a message and these beams are faster to such an extent that they instantly deliver the message irrespective of its size. Social From the social perspective, it has provided an advancement in the lifestyle of humans. It has improved the creativity levels of the scientists. Further, the constant innovation in the field of space transportation has actually inspired youth to develop their skills and experience the difference. On a social aspect, it provides an opportunity for creatures to interact. For example, the humans get in touch with the extraterrestrials and there is a possibility for coexistence which is a repeat of the history of Earth (NASA, 2005). The robotic mission to space has also benefited the society in terms of resources and communication. With the help of satellites, worldwide communication has become easier and navigation has also turned simpler. Space transportation technology allows to gain instant access to photographs and is available to everyone which is an uplift to the society. Cultural Instead of viewing the influence of space exploration technology as a tool, it can be regarded as a catalyst that has brought forward the unity between cultures. It has brought people closer and they work towards the same vision which is astonishing. The major benefit here is the need and interest people gained in the field of space exploration which has led them to compete with other cultures to bring forward a better space travel technology. This is perhaps the primary reason for constant innovation in this subject. Political Space exploration and risk free travel is identified as the largest science project with innumerable opportunities. This has eventually agitated the countries around the world to prove their powers and come up with better versions of technologies (Chiao and Pulham, 2017). Few countries have actually partnered and worked with their respective strengths in terms of resources. For example, US established partnerships with Europe and Russia to gain support to their idea. This is another way by which the space race improves. US continued to establish leadership in the space industry. It has actually possessed a higher percentage of world's capability to introduce new developments to the space due to the funding and innovative teams available to aid their visions. Economic Space travel has only offered many direct and indirect economic effects. First of all, the economic growth has been achieved with regular R&D and best use of technology. With the shuttle and space programs already in place, the economy has improved and become technology-intensive. Secondly, countries have partnered and shared their resources which implies that the trade balance is favorable. This will further offer more businesses and provide possibility for skilled resources to find opportunities. Those countries that had good natural resources were able to receive many benefits as the other countries relied on them. Environmental The technology brings few environmental benefits such as efficient use of natural resources. However, there are abundant environmental problems due to the space travel. In order to make the overall experience risk free, the technology is constantly reinvented which means that the reactive gases are changed and the emissions are high such that the ozone layer gets polluted. On the other hand, few space travel attempts ended up in damaging the solar system. To reinterpret the life on Earth, the originality of those planets is changed. This affects the atmospheric conditions. Ethical considerations While it is already said that the mission is to organize a risk free space travel, it is equally important to make it ethical. A risk free space travel leaving behind negative environmental impacts is not of any use to the society. There is a need to mitigate the overall contamination caused due to space travel for just one time. On the other hand, the researchers will have to understand the difference between permissible and prohibited limits during the research. Environmental ethics is extremely important to achieve the mission of risk free space transportation. During this process, extraterrestrial lives will have to be treated in an equal and fair manner. On the other hand, the financial limits should not be crossed just because of the mission that needs to be fulfilled. Conclusion In this report, it is understandable that the idea of space transportation is not new but making it risk free has several impacts on the society (both positive and negative). The best way to deal with the impacts is to follow ethical principles. To reduce the risk, it is important to constantly reinvent the design thereby ensuring that the natural resources are not affected.
