Introduction

The action research is an approach to take action against some problems. Action research can be done by a singular person or within a group. It is a reflective process by which a person solves a problem regarding a field and the research steps and model the researcher chose to analyse and eradicate those issues. The field of research will be taken in educational institute like the School 21, which is situated in the Pitchford Street, London, United Kingdom and the way the teachers and professors handle the diverse group of class in that school. The analysing of the situations in the classroom and the techniques of action research that will be taken to manage the diverse situation in a classroom will be variedly depicted in this study.

Task 1

1.1 Explain the purpose of action research

The action research tactics are very sportingly enhanced in the School 21, to solve the issues of classroom discord and miscommunication. The action research is being promoted to make it a more profession-oriented field for the teachers and the administration by understanding the issues and bringing development of the school (McPeck, 2016).The research techniques are promoted because they help in solving issues in the classroom of schools. Solving of these issues will help in the development of the educational systems and in the overall progress of the institutions infrastructures. The action research has said to be one of the tactics for improving the performance of the teacher and the students the teacher is handling, which totally helps in developing the educational system and solving the discord, which have been creating an issue for the progressive functioning of the school. In this study, we will analyse the problems in the classroom of the School 21, is a school in the London, which gives education to Pioneers. The students are treated differently and they are given challenges to solve by themselves, which enhances their problem-solving attribute, and building up their communication (School21.org.uk, 2019). The study will refer to the problems the school is having in the classroom and the way action research will help the teacher to deduct those issues and bring more effectiveness in the teaching processes.

1.2 Analyse key features of the action research process

The key features, which are needed to process the action research, are as follows:

Firstly, the situation is analysed which is creating the issue and decreasing the productivity of the classroom.

Making an appropriate plan or strategy the teacher is going to apply to reduce those problems and bring out the effectiveness in the students.

Specific research method  should be applied to the understanding of the problem

The action is taken to decrease the problem.

An evaluation is done on the effectiveness of the action plan

The action plan can only be subjected by rigorous practice and the teacher performance and dedication to make the situations correct and in a systematic process. The action research is mainly a very practical fieldwork where accurate data through secondary data collection is articulated. The practice generally goes in a theoretical process and drawn conclusions by various understandings and judgement.

The research techniques, which will be applied, can be both qualitative and quantitative and the data collection methods can be the primary collection methods. The qualitative research methods involve a variety of insights and approaches analysing the behaviour of the students to understand and get into the core of the problem. The quantitative approach can analyse two groups of separate class to experiment, analyse the different situations, and make the class develop solving their issues with the guidance of the teachers. The teacher should take approve from the head of the department or the principle to make development in the performance of the teacher itself.

The topic chosen for this assignment is that “How to manage students in a very diverse class room?” and the whole study has been depicted in relation to this topic.

I chose this topic because teachers are taking this as an important issue and they are doing action research to develop their own teaching skills to develop themselves and manage the classroom and bring teamwork in the students to complete their projects and gain more knowledge.

1.3 Analyse the implications of a model of action research

There are two types of models which can be implemented on the action research and can be applied to the teacher are the

Stringer Model- the Stringer model gives a systematic approach to which refers to the Qualitative research methods. The method has a systematic process, which is as follows:

Research Design

Data gathering and analysing the study accordingly

Gathering the perspectives of the Respondents

The Data gathering about the Communication systems

Making the action

Creating solutions

Dialectic Action Research Spiral –The model gives only a single purpose that is solving the problems in the classroom according to the action plan. The Dialectic Action Research Spiral also gives a procedural process to analyse the mistakes in the organising of the classroom and handling of the students (McTaggart and Kemmis, 2017). The dialectic model is depicted in a spiral form enunciating the 4-step process they are as follows:

Identifying the problematic area

Collection of data and information

Analysing the accuracy of data’s collected

Action plan development

The Dialectic Action Research spiral model is the most effective one to apply in the school for an effective action plan and it gives an easy procedural process.

Task 2

2.1 Justify own choice of an area of practice for action research

The choice of practice which must be applied in the specific fields is that the students sometimes have is the communication in the class as it has diverse and different personalities which leads to clash between the students. The problem is that the clash between the different personalities put a bar in effective team works and completion of projects. The students are getting more dependent on the teacher for acquiring knowledge. I have therefore chosen the action plan of the Dialectic Action Research Spiral to make the awkwardness and discord among the students solve. The interactive sessions and instil in the students to understand each other perspectives and therefore the quantitative and the qualitative analysis will be done by experimenting two or more groups and their interactive sessions to acquire data regarding the development and the performance.

2.2 Plan a clear invention strategy

2.3 Justify the choice and timescales of an invention strategy

In the school 21, which gives education to Pioneers, action research deals with the descriptive and theoretical approach to the problems of the school and the classroom of diverse students in this case of the study. The problem for which the actions are taken can be the related to the discipline and decorum of the institutions. The reason can otherwise be educational or the lack of adequate instruction to keep the discipline and decorum of the students. The action plan helps the teachers and the institutional authorities solve the problems of the students, make the institution progressive, and raise the educational standards (Shroyer et al., 2018).

The invention strategy helps in the following development of the action plan:

Teachers develop themselves in performing to raise the individual development and raise the overall educational system.

Increase in the leaning and development of the students when they will initiate in the group interactions and become less dependent on the teachers to develop in their educational fields.

Growing and development in the overall system is ensured.

2.4 Explain how ethical and political considerations and issues of confidentiality will be observed

The action plan has become one of the trendiest and effective research methods to check the teacher’s performance and the collaboration and the interaction between the tutors and the teacher’s increases. This technique will be applied in school 21, so that they can make the teacher performance checked and develop the student’s interaction as well. Nevertheless, the action plan can sometime fail due to traditional methods of research, methods, and techniques. These can cause ethical issues, which is very hard to solve afterwards.

The traditional methods used the classic ethnography for the action plan to be productive; some psychologist related Ethnography to the surveying of the students. Therefore, sometimes too much interrogation leads to the students getting uncomfortable and these lead to many complications (Tandfonline.com, 2019).

The political considerations while doing an action plan are:

The action plan should take confirmation with the local school policy to avoid any political issues while performing action plan.

The teacher should always be under guidance of some expert professor or consultant to make the action plan.

Task 3

3.1 Evaluate methods for action research

The methods of action research are as follows:

Qualitative and quantitative research methods are applied to the action plan. The single method can be taken regarding the analysis of the action plan. Some of the teachers and the researchers take two mixed methods as both can be applied to the action plan for the research methods of the action plan in school. The quantitative research method helps in the analysing and data collection of the group interaction and according to the student’s behaviour in the interactive sessions (Bryman, 2017).The qualitative research method includes the ethnography methods and the case study analysis of the student’s performance and analysing their reports to understand the field of development.

3.2 Evaluate methods of collecting qualitative and quantitative data

The methods of collecting qualitative data in the school for organising the action plan for the tutor is the methods of ethnography, which means consulting an anthropologist or a psychologist to understand the behaviours of each student. The personalities can be different for different classes and the clashes between the personalities can led to miscommunication and discord (McCusker and Gunaydin, 2015).

The quantitative data collection method is the one, which are used to analyse the performance of the students in the interactive sessions, and the reports of the annual performance of the students tend to understand the action plan.

3.3 Review ways in which collected data may be analysed

The content analysis will perfectly with the type of action plan the teacher is applying on the students to make them understand their problems more. The content analyses actually help in making a replica of the information collected in textual format to understand the problems and then by rigorous evaluation finding the solution for the problem. The usage of the mixed research methods can be generated by the usage of the content analyses and the various techniques of content analyses are through verbal communication, writing documents by taking data from questionnaires and interviews. The qualitative can be converted to the quantitative data with the help of the content analysis.

Task 4

4.1 Draw on selected literature relating to an area of practice for action research

According to the selected areas of the plan, the depicted solutions should be analysed and the discord and miscommunication should be solved between students, which must be done by the teacher under the guidance of an expert consultant. Selected questionnaires should be prepared by the teacher to analyse her/ him for understanding the necessary changes are taken in the action plan. The data and statistics should be analysed according to the data collected by the quantitative and qualitative research methods. The action plan should be taken in the theoretical manner and the teacher should be observant to the students whether they have made changes in their performance and interaction (Froján-Parga et al., 2019).The action plan will also generate idea to organise interactive sessions between the students to make them gain knowledge without depending on the teachers. The teamwork will help the students organise their projects and can understand their own flaws.

4.2 Justify own choice of methods selected for action research

The qualitative methods and the quantitative methods are the accurate methods, which can be applied to the action plan research. The model of the Dialectic Action Research Spiral will give them the idea of the four step easy approach to organise the action plan accordingly. The four steps model of Dialectic Action Research Spiral will help the action plan to be well organises and the teacher to make its analysis in a procedural way (Denzin, 2017). The ethnography in the Qualitative methods, which helps them in the accurate analysis of the students as the teacher, is making the analysis under the guidance of the expert anthropologist or psychologist.

4.3 Collect data relating to an area of practice for action research

The data collected from the area of practice by which the action plan will be generated. The data collected by the ethnographic methods and the collection of data through verbal communication and case study have concluded that the varied personalities in the school have aroused various problems and they do not communicate and interact with each other, which creates problem in the knowledge acquiring and the knowledge gaining. The dependency on the teacher of the students does not let them perform well in the interactive sessions, which affect their group projects and assignments.

4.4 Analyse data collected from action research

Data collected from the action research is that the students need more interactive sessions and the miscommunication in the students and the teachers as well. The data collected will help the teacher to make their action plan easier to organise. The performance of the students will make the teacher grow the educational standards of the institution and the students as well.

4.5 Present data collected from action research (Individual presentation)

The descriptive and the theoretical research can only be collected by the primary research methods and the qualitative techniques, which are acquired by the observation and the analysis of the behavioural research techniques to understand the performance of the students. The reports of the students and the performance of the students in class activities will also help the teacher to understand the development of the students and the total development of the institutional infrastructures.

4.6 Draw conclusions based on findings from action research

The findings from the action research are that there are:

Problems in the communication

Disputes and discord among the students

The dependency of the students on the teacher

Varied personalities creates problems in interacting

Task 5

5.1 Report own findings and conclusions from action research

According to the findings, there have been these various issues, which must be solved by applying the action plan the problems addresses are as follows:

Communication problems

Decreased coordination among students and the school authorities as well

Dependency on teachers

Different personalities give rise to miscommunication

The conclusions drawn from the data collected are that the issues should be solved regarding the rise in the educational systems and must be solved by addressing an action plan under the guidance of the consultant (Education.ie, 2019).

5.2 Justify own recommendations for action to be taken based on conclusions form action research

The action plan must include interactive sessions and the observations to analyse the problems of the students. The action plan will also help the teachers and the tutors to gain more knowledge about handling the students in much better manner (Katz, 2017). The recommendations related to the action plan are as follows:

Constant checking and planning of the strategies taken to eradicate the problems

Constant inspection and the updating of the action plan to develop the performance of the teachers to make the students more progressive

The right utilisation of models to address to the problems more accurately

Increased opportunities for children to grow and earn knowledge

Task 6

6.1 Analyse the effectiveness of own practice in relation to action research

The effectiveness of making an action plan for schools is that it helps in listing of the disabilities of the authorities and the rigidness. The rigidness of the educational system will be made flexible with the help of an action plan.

The effectiveness of applying the qualitative and primary data collection through observation and descriptive methods will help the students to be more interactive and develop further growth in gaining knowledge.

6.2 Identify own strengths and areas for improvement in relation to action research

Strengths acquired through Action plan:

Connecting well with children

More communicative

Interactive

Socialising well with students

Patience

Tolerating attitude

Areas for improvement are:

Solving the disputes among the students

Arranging more interactive sessions

As a teacher, being observant is necessary to analyse the development of the students

6.3 Plan opportunities to improve own skills in action research

The opportunities by applying the action plan can be effective to both the students and the teachers. The scope of the teacher to increase their skills can be applied by affective action plan, which will only be increased if the teacher takes initiatives to take development classes for increasing their skills. The following steps should be followed to improve the skills of the teacher. They are as follows:

The teacher can take special interactive and psychological training from experts to increase the bonding and communication with the teachers

Taking constant reviews and feedbacks from the students to help improve their skills and understand the demands of the students

Consulting with faculties

Consulting with friends

Always take the action plan on the guidance of the expert or some consultant

Conclusion

The study has been depicted with the various problems generated in the classroom, which has varied personalities, which creates the problem in the development of the educational standards. The teachers and the authorities of the school will make the action plan more effective with the application of primary data collection. The primary data collection also included the qualitative data collection methods to make the educational system high and towards progress. The data collection methods are also applied by the help of the Dialectic Action Research Spiral, which will give them as systematic approach to the development of the educational system.
