b. Why do some marginalised groups in the USA and Canada reject the idea of globalisation? In answering consider NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement).

ANSWER b):
NAFTA was an agreement which was executed and signed between Mexico, Canada and USA to eliminate the barriers to trade. However, it was considered that NAFTA will only benefit the average citizen and North American economies but not the minority group of workers who are exposed to competition.Marginalised group in Canada and USA rejected the idea of globalisation due to alteration of the local culture from the impact of globalisation. It was believed that globalisation will result in confusion and prevent the development self and identity. There was high chance of mixing of local identity with global identity which created a challenge for marginalised group of USA and China to adapt and reconcile and also was able to increase the prejudice scope.
